For all of you (probably none) who are wondering what happened to the poor 32 people arrested, tortured, prosecuted and sentenced for Nookat events, here you have the (un)happy ending.
Now, their only hope is with the High Commissioner for Human Rights and international community to intervene advocating on their behalf.

Human rights activists consider Supreme Court ruling regarding Nookat events illegal
Bishkek (AKIpress) - A number of human rights activists consider ruling of the Supreme Court regarding Nookat events illegal. They said this during a press conference in AKIpress news center today.
The Supreme Court today considered the criminal case against 32 people convicted for the mass disorders that took place on 1 October 2008 in the town of Nookat, Osh oblast, including 2 minor children, 2 women and 2 people with mental disorders. They all are charged with attempt on the constitutional order, extremism, separatism, organization of mass disorders, membership in banned Hizb-ut-Tahrir group. They all were sentenced to 10-20 years in prison.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday slightly reduced sentences of several convicts. Thus, imprisonment was cut up to 5 years for 2 minor children. They all have to pay damages to the Nookat local administration worth 150 thousand som and 100 thousand som to law enforcement agencies.
Human rights defender Dmitry Kabak said these people were sentenced without proof of their guilt. For instance, according to investigation, Hizb-ut-Tahrir gathered people on October 1 in Nookat promising lottery there. In court it was found out that only copies of lottery tickets are available, while originals were all destroyed.
All detainees were tortured during inquiry, human rights defenders claim.
They said all protection mechanisms have been exhausted in Kyrgyzstan. They hope only for interference of special rapporteurs of the UN Human Rights Council.
