Last week end I went staying for three days in the Regional school of Chuy Oblast, located in Voronzovka.
I was invited through Achim Merlo, my UNV supervisor, to join together with other International UNVs a summercamp for children far from home and orphans. My Office had no problem in authorizing an "unofficial" day off for me to go there on Friday early morning, they all commended the idea and the initiative.
This project, organized by a group of kyrgyz volunteers - many of them former student at the same school - included some English talking activities and presence of international volunteers would have been precious for this purpose.
In the end, we spend all time together. Students, trainers, volunteers, we all mingled day and nighttime playing, chatting, eating and sleeping together. What was supposed to be a one-and-half hour of Englis Talking Club became a round the clock shared practice of English, Russian and Kyrgyz.
Now Russian is much better, I can say a few words in Kyrgyz, and in my mobile I've many new numbers to call in next six months.
What follows is a selection of pictures taken during my stay at Vozorovka. they're raw and natural, without any kind of post-editing.
