Istanbul, a love-hate relationship (part 1)

First of all, allow me to state I am desperately in love with Turkey, and Istanbul in particular.

However, apart from being among the most magnificent and fascinating places I toured on my way back from Central Asia, Istanbul is also the place where I learned one of the toughest lessons of my life.

In this city I discovered the hard way that it doesn't matter how smart you think you are, how educated and trained, how skilled and experienced, you could be cheated like a 12 years old boy.

Luckily, all damage suffered - if we exclude some dents to my pride - was some dollars (a good amount, to be honest). No (physical) harm done, then.

Enough whining, let's move to the positive part of the post.

Ladies and gentlemen, that's why I am in love with Istanbul!

PS: Captions will be added as soon as I'll manage to consult my notes. I don't have them in Bogotá.

Indiana Jones does exist. And blatantly wanders around in Istanbul!

Dear Riona, Thanks for your nice comment!
Anyway, if you did like these pictures you will definitely love the one I will post very soon, taken in the streets of Istanbul. ;)

PS: As I said, I fell in love with many of the places I've been to... but still Turkey ranks very high in the list!
